Creating Content the World (Actually) Watches
Right now, the world of content has a big problem. On one side, there is so much beautiful content that has very little story, no substance and no watchability. These pieces are created in a void that ignores the viewer in favor of an in vogue aesthetic and tone. Don’t believe me? Just look at the numbers. People aren’t watching unless they are forced to. On the other side the content is often dumbed down, overly manufactured and visually dull. It’s a reality show buffet where there’s always a story but it definitely isn’t a real one. It doesn’t have to be one way or the other.
I’ve built my career around showing that there can be more. I create content around real human stories, with a uniquely beautiful grit. All the while I use a publishing perspective to make sure that everything that I make resonates with a wide audience. Over the years I’ve split my time as an award-winning filmmaker and a content publisher with my nose in the numbers and my eyes on what’s next. It has led me to build and execute brand partnerships with the likes of Nike, Callaway and the North Face, direct Emmy-nominated TV shows and build a Youtube channel with +1 million subscribers. Along the way it sharpened my skills in building voice, telling stories across platforms and dispelling the myth that young people won’t watch long form content.
I want to continue to create pieces that push forward while bringing the audience along for the ride. Let’s create together.
